Resources that Help Us Come to Christ

Today’s “In the Know” message comes from Peggy Matson (Stake Communication Education Specialist) and Sister Shaffer (Stake Communication Assistant Director):

As we enter the midway point of 2025, we are keeping in mind our specific stake goal to rededicate our lives to Jesus Christ by serving and worshipping in the temple, and helping all to receive the blessings found therein.

But, we cannot make this journey alone. We require help during different times in our lives. And the Lord’s resources are provided at the tip of our fingers. If you vowed to make this year better than the last, there are still several months ahead where you can make strong habits for lasting and impactful change.

Welfare and Self Reliance are extensions of the Savior’s love!

So many resources are available through simply opening the Gospel Library app on your cell phone. These are an extension of the Savior’s love for each individual. Here are just some of the resources available by a simple click of a button. On your phone, open up the Gospel Library app and scroll to the category called Life Help.

1. Addiction recovery is a healing path. This resource addresses all sorts of addictions and offers help  to the families too.

2. English Connect. This resource offers several levels of learning and even a series of videos to help.

3. Employment resources. This resource offers help from finding a job, to starting a business, and even has job postings.

4. Emotional support resources from dealing with everyday life to death and divorce. Counseling services are also available through Family Support Services.

5. Managing Finances. This resource covers how to manage a budget, avoiding debt, and includes financial calculators to measure how soon you could pay off credit card balances.

6. Grief is a sense of loss and suffering. It takes the time it takes and this looks different for everybody.

This list is just a few of the many resources available in the Gospel Library app.  Have a look and you will see the Savior’s hand reaching out in so many ways to enrich the lives of each of His children.

Even if you are not in direct need of help, become familiar—you just never know when a family member or friend will seek comfort from you in their time of need. Having additional resources to share could be the kind of help that will be life changing for them.

“We become self-reliant through obtaining sufficient knowledge, education, and literacy; by managing money and resources wisely, being spiritually strong, preparing for emergencies and eventualities; and by having physical health and social and emotional well-being.”—From The Welfare Responsibilities of the Relief Society President Handbook
