Prepare for Stake Conference
Dear Auburn Stake Family,
Reflecting on the power drawn from our unified efforts to fast, pray, and petition the Lord for rain this summer, we desire to activate that same power to prepare our hearts to receive revelation during our upcoming Stake Conference in November. The hope for this conference is that we will unite together to come unto Christ — to better know Him and hear Him by exercising our faith and letting God prevail in our lives. This will happen as we actively apply the doctrine of Christ and participate in His work.
“As we come unto Christ and help others do the same, we participate in God’s work of salvation and exaltation. This work is guided by the two great commandments to love God and to love our neighbors. We show our love for God as we keep His commandments and serve His children. The work of salvation and exaltation focuses on four divinely appointed responsibilities” (General Handbook). These responsibilities are:
Living the gospel of Jesus Christ
Caring for those in need
Inviting all to receive the gospel
Uniting families for eternity
So our invitation to you is to join our Stake-wide effort to engage in this work to prepare our hearts to better hear Him at our Stake Conference on December 11 and 12, 2021.
Starting this week:
Oct 24 is Stake Unite Families for Eternity Week:
Do something this week to connect yourself and your family members to God by focusing on covenants made in the temple.
Oct 31 is Stake Invite All to Christ Week:
Extend one invitation to “come and see”, either in-person or via social media.
Nov 7 is Stake Live the Gospel of Jesus Christ Week:
Do one thing this week to strengthen and minister to someone.
Nov 14 is Stake Care for Those in Need Week:
Engage this week in one act of service to care for those in need in your community.
Dec 11, 12 - Stake Conference:
Come, Gather, and Unite: Having performed His work, come prepared to worship God and hear His specific counsel to you, whispered to your heart through His Spirit.
My brothers and sisters, I plead with you to make time for the Lord! Make your own spiritual foundation firm and able to stand the test of time by doing those things that allow the Holy Ghost to be with you always. “Nothing invites the Spirit more than fixing your focus on Jesus Christ. Talk of Christ, rejoice in Christ, feast upon the words of Christ, and press forward with steadfastness in Christ” (President Nelson).
We look forward to uniting our hearts and efforts with yours, as we have done before, to receive the powers of heaven in our lives and in our homes.
Sincerely,
Auburn Stake Presidency
