I Know Heavenly Father Loves Me

The Buchter Family: Albert (top), Ashleen (right), Peighton (left) and Toree (bottom)

Toree Buchter is a member of the Penn Valley Ward Primary. The Penn Valley Ward is a local congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Nevada County. The Primary comprises children ages 3-11 who meet weekly at church to learn about the gospel while their parents attend adult classes during the same hour (learn more about Primary and gain access to resources for children).

This past Sunday during the church services, the Primary children sang and spoke for the congregation. Toree shared her beliefs (her “testimony”) about Jesus Christ. You can read her testimony below.

My testimony

I know my Heav’nly father loves me because he blessed me with my family and my home. I love my family because we’re always together. I know my Heav’nly father loves me because he wants me to return to Heaven. I know Heav’nly father loves me because he sent his son to die for us. I Love the song My Heavenly Father loves me because it talks about what Heavenly father gave us. In the name of Jesus [Christ] Amen.

From Toree’s mother, Ashleen Buchter

“Wow, what a special Sabbath day today has been! This morning at church we were blessed to hear from the primary aged children, both in word and song. How can one not feel the love of Heavenly Father when young children speak and sing of Christ and gospel truths. Toree and her friends were so adorable and just radiating the light of Christ. The simple truths that we can learn in primary at church are the foundations of the gospel. Love your Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, attend church, love your neighbor, say your prayers, and read your scriptures are what get us that eternal happiness. Read Toree’s talk from the primary program, then ponder on how you know your Father in Heaven loves you.”

Adults, youth, and children are welcome to worship with us on Sundays! Find a chapel near you or browse children and youth programs (weekday and weekend activities).
