My Faith in God
My faith in God is something that is very important to me. It helps me focus on my relationship with him and Jesus Christ.
I find that as I exercise my faith in him I receive a lot of blessings and revelations. Anything can be done with faith. Take Moses, for example: on purely faith he parted the Red Sea, and the group walked through completely unharmed.
I have personally in my life seen many times where faith has helped me accomplish things I thought were not possible. Now it's not quite on the scale of parting the Red Sea, but it's the little exercises of faith that change us for the better and we can see our faith grow. I have seen it so many times, especially on my mission. I served in the Idaho Falls Idaho mission, and during my time there I exercised faith a whole lot. As I went throughout my mission I started to notice a change within myself. I noticed that my faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ had grown tremendously.
As I sat down and thought about it, I noticed something very peculiar: it seemed that it didn't take a giant leap of faith like parting the Red Sea after all, like I thought growing up. Instead, it only took little acts of faith to build it up, such as having faith that God is watching over me and blessing me, or having faith that he would help us find people to spread the gospel to, and as I kept doing that my faith grew like a wildfire.
In the Book of Mormon, in the Book of Nephi it talks a lot about faith. In one particular section, Nephi is talking to his brothers about having faith in the Lord. It reads:
“Yea, and how is it that ye have forgotten that the Lord is able to do all things according to his will, for the children of men, if it so be that they exercise faith in him. Wherefore, let us be faithful to him” (1 Nephi 7:12).
I really love that scripture. It says plain as day that if we have faith then he will make anything possible.
I’d like to bear my testimony of these things: that I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us and are there for us, and I know that when we exercise our faith in little ways daily that our faith as a whole will grow tremendously. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ.
