How to Support Afghan Refugees
LDS Charities and International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Sacramento have partnered together to help support the urgent effort to set up homes for Afghan Refugees who are starting over with nothing. There are several ways to help.
Transport furniture and goods to new homes
The biggest need right now is help with move-ins. They need volunteers (Mon-Fri) to pick up the furniture and household goods at the welcoming center at 2020 Hurley Way, Sacramento, CA, and deliver them to their new home. Most of these homes are in the North Sacramento area and Rancho Cordova.
Organize donations
Help organize and inventory donations in Granite Bay warehouse. They also need help setting up new homes to get them ready for new tenants.
Donate
You can donate household goods (click on a wish list on their website) or funds.
