Celebrate Pioneer Day With Us
On Saturday, July 27, 2024, we will celebrate Pioneer Day in Nevada City. Annually, we honor the early pioneers of our faith who in the early 19th century traveled across the United States seeking for religious liberty and peace to worship God as devoted Christians. They escaped an enormous amount of religious persecution and left most of their belongings behind. They suffered fatigue, hunger and thirst, more persecution, and outdoor living in extreme weather. We honor their early sacrifices.
These early pioneers arrived in the Salt Lake valley on July 24, 1847. This is an official holiday in Utah while in other regions Latter-day Saints celebrate with family and friends.
We will celebrate together as a group of congregations across Placer County and Nevada County at our pavilion in Nevada City.
